How our design & build options work
1. Finding a location
You may have already bought a section or have your eye on one, or may know the area you are keen on but still need to find right one. The first, and one of the most important parts of any new build is about finding the right location. If you need a hand or are not completely sure about something, just shout out. With over 10 years of building experience in the Canterbury region, we can give you some insight in to what might or might not work. Sometimes it’s just nice to get an outside opinion.
2. Choose or create a plan
If you are stumped for ideas, simply pick one of our concept plans and away you go. We can make modifications if they are not quite right for your location or needs, and then they are ready to rock. You may have already spent hours trawling through Pinterest fine-tuning your ideal space and already have your plans, or are ready to get those ideas down on paper. Just shout out and we can help get the ball rolling.
3. Council consent & finance
Once the plans are council ready, we are nearly there! Plans take around 28 working days to come back from council (as long as there are no issues). If you need help organizing finance, we can help out with that too. We work closely with some great Mortgage Brokers so can point you in that direction if you like.
4. Start building
This is when the fun bit starts! The process involves marking out your home and getting the foundations laid. Then the frames go up, the roof goes on and the windows go in. Once the building is wrapped and weather tight, work on the inside starts; internal linings, plastering, painting, flooring, tiling and finally installation of bathrooms and kitchens. Once we get code of compliance in you move! We really enjoy working closely with you throughout the building process to make sure all those little details are just right and exactly what you imagined. We want you to be happy in your home, and be able to look around and be proud of what you have created.
